I love food.
I love to eat.
I love to talk about food. And it is the only thing that I talk about.
Well. Almost the only thing that I talk about.
I can easily ramble on about my love for dresses and a good pair of high heels. Oh, and a great cup of diner coffee. Yum. The more of a dive the diner is, the better the coffee.
Well. I can just easily ramble, you don't have to see my 2nd grade report card to know that it's an on-going problem.
I seem to be sprinting into my mid-twenties in a crazy life with a hunky husband and a bad and smelly hound dog (okay, so she's only mildly smelly and is only bad when she goes through the trash, but she is most certainly a hound dog).

I tend to take a lot of risks when I cook and bake. Maybe it's the result of a nervous energy. Or perhaps of my never fully growing up. Or maybe both.
I started this little blog in 2009, shortly after I got engaged. I realized that as a wife, it would be unacceptable to feed a hungry husband my usual dinner of corn and black bean salsa / blue corn chips or a red velvet cupcake for dinner every night.
Yeup, you guessed it. I had to learn how to cook. I didn't really know the first thing about cooking. I mean, I once screwed up making Jell-O. Jell-O. Pure shame. Just ask my brother-in-law about it, he still makes fun of me for it to this day. And rightfully so.
Blogging about my journey was scary at first. Isn't there a better way of learning than by putting it all out there on the internet for the world to see?! Not if you are a glutton for punishment. I didn't even understand the concept of food photography and/or food presentation and I took just about every photo with my Blackberry....

| This is almost to embarrassing to post! |
....and I didn't quite grasp that posting a breakfast consisting of egg whites and spinach doesn't really constitute as a blog worthy recipe. *Palm on forehead*
But! There's hope for you non-cooks out there! I am coming along with my cooking and photography skills! And you can do it, too! This serves as proof that you can! I mean, I get food in my hair almost every day, and trip about twice. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
